• Faulty Wash Motor/Pump: The motor responsible for powering the water circulation and spray may be failing, meaning the water is present but not being forcefully sprayed.

Standing water indicates a draining problem. The main culprits are:

• Clogged Drain Filter or Sump: Food debris and hard items accumulate here, physically blocking the drain entrance.

• Failed Drain Pump: The electrical pump responsible for forcing the dirty water out of the unit has failed and needs replacement.

This indicates a total loss of power or a failure in the initial safety checks:

• Door Latch/Switch Failure: The dishwasher won’t start if it doesn’t confirm the door is securely closed. A broken or misaligned door latch assembly is a very common culprit.

• Blown Thermal Fuse: A thermal fuse acts as a safety cutoff; if the unit overheated at any point, this fuse may have blown, cutting all power until it is replaced.

If the dishes are not dry and the interior is cold, the unit is not heating. This points to a failure in the heating system:

• Failed Heating Element: This element is responsible for heating the water during the wash and the air during the dry cycle. If it burns out, the appliance loses its ability to dry effectively.
