LG Refrigerator Repair
Most LG fridge calls start with a warm fresh-food section or a freezer that has iced over. On French-door models the ice maker compartment is a frequent trouble spot, and a failing fan or defrost part usually shows up as an Er code on the display before the food warms up.

How we diagnose an LG fridge
We start with what causes most cooling complaints: the evaporator and condenser fans, a frosted-over evaporator from a defrost fault, and the door seals. Only when those check out do we test the compressor and the control board that drives it. The order matters, because an iced-over evaporator can look exactly like a failed compressor from the outside.
LG Refrigerator Compressor Replacement
Most LG refrigerators sold over the last decade use LG’s inverter linear compressor. When it fails, the fridge and the freezer warm up together, often with no error code on the display. Replacing an LG compressor is sealed-system work: the refrigerant circuit has to be opened, repaired, leak-tested and recharged correctly, which takes different tools and skills than replacing a fan or a board.

Before you book
Many LG refrigerators carry a longer manufacturer warranty on the compressor than on the rest of the fridge. If yours may still be covered, check with LG first. If it isn’t, we can usually start with a diagnosis the same day.*
How we replace an LG compressor
- Confirm the diagnosis. Rule out the fans, defrost system and control board, then test the compressor itself.
- Recover the refrigerant from the sealed system.
- Replace the compressor with the correct part for your model.
- Replace the filter-drier. It is always replaced whenever the system is opened.
- Braze and leak-test every connection under pressure.
- Pull a deep vacuum to remove air and moisture from the system.
- Recharge with the exact refrigerant type and amount on your fridge’s rating label.
- Run and verify cooling on both sides before we leave. Allow several hours, up to a day, for full temperature.
Sealed System Repairs
The sealed system is the closed loop of compressor, condenser, evaporator, filter-drier and tubing that carries refrigerant. When anything in that loop fails, the fridge loses cooling even though the lights, fans and display all seem fine. We handle the complex sealed-system repairs that a basic parts swap can’t fix, on LG and other brands.

LG Washer Repair
LG washers tell you a lot through their two-letter codes. A drain fault, an unbalanced load and a water-inlet problem each have their own code, so we read the code history before opening anything.

How we diagnose an LG washer
We run the washer’s own test cycle to watch the fill, drain and spin stages. A drain fault is usually a blocked pump filter or a failed drain pump. A spin fault is often a worn shock absorber or the rotor position sensor on LG’s direct-drive motor, and on older front-loaders, the tub bearings.
LG Dryer Repair
LG dryers monitor airflow and temperature closely. A load that’s still damp is often a blocked vent the dryer is already warning about, so we check the full vent run before replacing any part.

How we diagnose an LG dryer
On electric models we test the heating element, thermal fuse and high-limit thermostat. On gas models we check the igniter and the gas valve coils. We also measure airflow at the vent: a restricted vent triggers LG’s airflow warnings and burns out heating parts, so replacing a part without fixing the vent just brings the problem back.
LG Dishwasher Repair
The two LG dishwasher codes we see most are a drain fault and a leak warning. A leak warning stops the cycle on purpose to protect your floor, so it needs a proper look rather than a reset.

How we diagnose an LG dishwasher

Do you replace compressors on LG refrigerators?
Yes. LG compressor replacement is one of the most common repairs we do. The job covers recovering the refrigerant, replacing the compressor and the filter-drier, leak-testing, pulling a vacuum and recharging to the specification on your fridge's rating label.
How do I know if my LG fridge compressor has failed?
If the fridge and freezer warm up together while the fans and lights still work, the compressor or the board that drives it is a likely cause. An iced-over evaporator can look similar, so a technician should rule that out first.
Is it worth replacing the compressor on an LG refrigerator?
